hehe, no logs or ought, since i recently switched to linux. Couldn't be arsed writing down all the IP's since it was a ddos attack. Anyway only important ip is 86.34.246.212 . . . . the guy who caused the ddos.

Its basically a power struggle, if you have the tools you become bigheaded and want to take out all who piss you off. Ive seen it with several people in and outside TeamElite though Lord_Zero is a well known case...

i heard alot of people on DC don't make their own tools though.. they seem to get them or rip the code from other ppl that made tools, too.. i think thats kinda lame.

Well I'm a happy little hippy so I don't understand all this attacking-for-nothing crap. I think DC would be a better place if all this crap would stop. One suggestion would be this. Split DC into two parts.

Part one. (DC+) Somewhere to go and share files meet nice people and have fun.

Part Zero. (DC-) Everyone with the IQ less than a rubber-duck would happily attack each other to compensate for their penus sizes. Hubs would be full of bots that constantly say "oooooooooo you are so great. Ooooooo your are so manly. Oooooooooooo your penus is so big. Ooooooooooooooooo flood someone and show them your power".

The ruling body for Part Zero is a site called hublist.dis.org which always shows all hubs other than your own with 0 users and offline, your own hub as maximum in settings and excelent ratings.

No user is required to regiser in any hub but a flood of the hub is required to gain VIP staus and enable downloads. (All shares are hidden to VIPs and above ).

MOTD in these hubs is set to PM flood each user entering the hub, 1000 X each ascii character in their nicks........ with the message .........."Bow before me, My little sisters friends fear me".

I think that will get them to leave us alone.

I can't no longer open a hub until it gets flooded or DDoS im no more OP in any public hub becuse i know they are in the risk to get DDoSed.

if you are being DDosed you better have a hell of a line to stay on.
firewalls will protect your computer from crashing but your line
will bottle neck.

There is NO protection from DDoS attacks for your internet connection.
The best thing to do it contact your ISP or find the IPs for those bots
DDos'ing you and report them to their isps so they can cut their connection.

Since its so easy to do thats why you see so many attacks being
nothing more that bots being thrown at web servers.

This is true to a certain degree.... You could actually set a connection/second thresh-hold on firewall/ips... once an ip hits that thresh-hold they are blocked for ... 2 weeks lets say. yea you still get the SYN request to your server, but the firewall/ips will drop it, thus the syn never reaches the server and no ACK gets sent back, as well as no data transmission. since the only thing coming from the bots will be SYN requests, the ddos basically becomes impossible at that point.

This is how I thwarted the ddos's back at my old job. It was very effective.
